Their sales pop up pretty randomly, but I usually see the good ones around late summer or holiday weekends. I snagged a cheap Seattle flight during a random Tuesday sale once, so timing can be hit-or-miss.

If you watch their email alerts, you’ll catch most of them — they tend to drop unannounced deals a couple times a year.

Alaska Airlines doesn’t follow a strict annual “sale calendar,” but it regularly posts fare deals and promotions throughout the year. You’ll often see discounts during major shopping events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and around holiday weekends or seasonal shoulder periods (spring and fall). Airlines also occasionally run flash sales or route-specific price drops that last only a few days.

I used to drive myself crazy refreshing browser tabs until I realized Alaska Airlines actually follows a pretty predictable rhythm. Last year, I was desperate to visit family in Seattle without draining my savings, and I learned that Tuesdays are almost always the magic day. Most of their "Weekly Web Specials" drop late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. If you're looking for the best way to snag a deal, that 24-hour window is your best bet.

Beyond the weekly cycle, I’ve noticed they go big on seasonal sales. They almost always have a massive "PFD Sale" in the fall (around October) and usually a "Buy One, Get One" (BOGO) offer for Travel Tuesday in late November. I actually scored a BOGO deal last year just by checking their site at 8:00 AM after my coffee. Another pro-tip: their Low Fare Calendar is a lifesaver if you can modify your travel dates by even a day or two—it’s how I found a $99 cross-country flight while my original date was double that. Just keep an eye out for those midweek departures!
