Is Cuy Peruvian dish legal in the US?

Peru is one of the few countries where cuy, or guinea pig, is a delicacy. Its status is in conflict in the United States, state by state. Its consumption is allowed in some states, others don’t. For that reason, its consumption should be considered only if local regulations allow it.
 
Cuy is not banned in US. It is a traditional Peruvian dish, and it is not common in most parts of the US. it is not illegal Some specialty restaurants, especially those serving South American cuisine,
