The places offer convenient access to Central Park, museums, Broadway, and places that are kid friendly, which makes the exploration of NYC fun and relaxing.
If you're looking for a place to stay that's family-friendly, the Upper West Side or Midtown Manhattan are a great choice - they're super safe and super central & super convenient & have everything you need with kids. I stayed in one of those areas once and it made life with my kids a lot easier.
