What is the best time to visit Botswana?

When should I visit Botswana for the best safari experience, wildlife viewing, and comfortable weather without extreme heat or rain?

The best time to visit Botswana is May–October for safaris and wildlife viewing. November–April offers lush scenery, fewer tourists, and birdwatching but less concentrated wildlife sightings.

I completely agree with the post that May to June and September to October are the best times to visit Botswana, the weather is mild and the wildlife is abundant due to the great migration of zebras and antelopes. I'd also recommend considering the dry season from May to October for a more comfortable and scenic experience. The dry conditions make it easier to spot animals and also provide a stunning backdrop with the dry pans and savannah landscapes.

Usually, the most suitable time for one to go to Botswana lies in the dry season from May until October with a greater focus on safari enthusiasts. In that period, the weather is cooler, the skies are usually clear, and due to the scarcity of water sources, animals can be easily seen as they tend to come together at rivers and waterholes. From July to October is the very time that many tourists choose to be in the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. Should you desire to avoid the hustle and bustle, enjoy greener sceneries, and get very close to the birds, the rainy season from November to March still remains a most worthwhile option.
