Leavenworth is great if you like a mix of scenery and a cozy town vibe. Walking through the Bavarian-style village is the main highlight, especially with all the shops and German food spots. You can also go hiking around Icicle Gorge, try river rafting in summer, or just relax by the river. If you visit in winter or during Oktoberfest/Christmas, the festivals and lights make it even more fun. I personally think that’s when the town feels the most alive.

I recently visited Leavenworth with my family and had a great time exploring the town's Bavarian-themed architecture and shops, but I was a bit disappointed with the overpriced food options. Instead, I recommend checking out the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum, it's a unique and quirky attraction that showcases a vast collection of nutcrackers from around the world, and it's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something off the beaten path.
If you’re heading to Leavenworth, you’ve gotta stroll through the Bavarian-style village, grab a beer, and check out Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum; in winter the Leavenworth Christmas Lighting Festival is magical, and if you like outdoors, a hike around Icicle Gorge is honestly my favorite chill spot.
