Traverse City is great if you like a mix of outdoors and chill town vibes. Sleeping Bear Dunes is the highlight (the views are insane and the dune climb is tougher than it looks), plus you can hit the beaches along Lake Michigan or Grand Traverse Bay. Downtown has a nice food and coffee scene, and if you’re into wine, the Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas have some really good wineries with scenic drives. I’d also recommend catching a sunset by the water and, if you’re visiting in summer, checking out the Cherry Festival. It’s a fun local experience.
