Is Massachusetts actually expensive to live in, or is it still possible to find affordable places around the state? I’m curious how pricey daily life really is there.

Massachusetts is generally considered expensive, with high housing, healthcare, and living costs—especially in Boston. Some smaller cities and rural areas are more affordable, but overall the state ranks among the pricier ones.

Massachusetts is regarded as a very pricey state, as it has a living cost index that is way above the national average. Besides, the state is always included in the top list of the ones with the highest living costs and very often takes second place only to Hawaii because of such factors as expensive housing.
