To access Admirals Club lounges on American Airlines, travelers can purchase a membership, hold an eligible first or business-class ticket, or qualify through AAdvantage elite status. The American Admirals Club also grants access to select travelers flying internationally on Oneworld partner airlines. However, to avail of this service, passengers have to follow the guidelines related to the Admiral Club stated on the official website of AA.

You must have a same-day American Airlines or Oneworld-partner boarding pass, or have an Admirals Club membership, an eligible credit card, or a day pass.

You can access Admirals Club lounges by flying First/Business Class, having elite status, using a qualifying credit card, buying a day pass, or being a member. Just show your boarding pass and ID at the entrance.

I figured out Admirals Club access during a long layover after my American Airlines flight was rebooked. The most reliable way to get in is having an Admirals Club membership or holding an eligible American Airlines credit card that includes lounge access. I’ve also entered when flying Business Class on an international route, which was a nice surprise.

One time, when none of those applied, I simply bought a day pass at the airport, and it was worth it for the quiet space and Wi-Fi. After a schedule change, I called *8 7 7-9 3 2-0 0 3 4* to confirm whether my ticket still qualified before heading to the lounge. That quick check saved me time and frustration at the airport.
