Recent data shows Spirit Airlines has an on-time performance (OTP) of about 81–82% in North America—ranking second among U.S./Canadian carriers in February 2025 with an 81.77% OTP . In April, its average OTP was around 80.8% (businesstravelnews.com). That means more than 8 out of 10 flights arrive within 15 minutes of schedule—solid for a low-cost airline, though still behind industry leaders like Southwest and Delta.

Spirit Airlines’ flights are on time about 76–80% of the time. In July 2024, DOT data shows just 61.1% of Spirit’s flights arrived on time transportation.gov, while Cirium found around 83% punctuality in North America in April–May 2025 .

From my experience, Spirit’s on-time record is hit or miss. Last summer, my flight from Dallas to Orlando left right on schedule, but the return leg was delayed almost two hours because of weather. The thing with Spirit is a lot depends on the airport and time of day. Morning flights I’ve taken tend to be more punctual. When my return got delayed, I thought about switching to another flight, and calling (844) 734-0813 made it super easy to check options. They walked me through rebooking in minutes, which was way faster than standing in line at the gate. So, while delays do happen, I’d say Spirit is about average — and having that number saved me a ton of stress.
