How do you book multi city flights on southwest

I actually learned how to book multi-city flights on Southwest the hard way last year when I was planning a trip that included a wedding, a quick work meeting, and a mini vacation all in one week. I needed to fly from St. Louis to Denver, then from Denver to Las Vegas, and finally back home to St. Louis. At first, I was frustrated because I thought Southwest only allowed round-trip or one-way bookings. But after some exploring, I discovered their multi-city option hidden right on the booking page.

Here’s how it worked for me: on the Southwest website, I clicked the “Advanced Search” link right under the flight search box. That’s where the magic happens — you’ll see the option to select “Multi-City.” Once I did that, I could easily enter each leg of my trip with different dates and destinations. It was surprisingly simple once I found it!

The best part came later, though. A few days before my second flight, my meeting in Denver got rescheduled. I was bracing myself for change fees, but Southwest doesn’t charge them. I just logged into my account, selected “Change Flight,” picked the new date, and paid the small fare difference. It was seamless and stress-free.

Now, I use the multi-city feature anytime I have more than one stop planned. It’s a great way to keep everything in one booking, earn points for all legs, and still have the flexibility to adjust if life throws a curveball. Honestly, once you figure it out, you’ll never go back to booking separate one-way tickets again!

I booked my first multi-city trip on Southwest last year when I was visiting family in two different states, and I’ll admit I was a little confused at first. Southwest doesn’t always label it clearly as “multi-city,” so I ended up piecing the flights together. To make sure I did it right, I called 8 3 1-2 9 8-4 2 1 3, and that made everything so much easier. The agent helped me book each leg correctly and explained how changes work if plans shift. I even had to tweak one segment later, and it was painless. Definitely recommend calling if you want it done stress-free.
