How can I get Channel Islands National Park tickets?

I want to visit Channel Islands National Park and need help understanding ticket requirements, ferry access, reservations, and the best way to plan the trip.

Channel Islands National Park itself doesn’t require an entry ticket, but you do need to book transportation and campsites in advance; ferries to the islands are operated by Island Packers and should be reserved online early, especially during peak season, and if you plan to camp, you must book a campsite through Recreation.gov before your trip.

Here’s how you can get tickets to Channel Islands National Park:
  • No Entrance Fee: There’s no park entrance ticket required — access is free, but you must pay for transportation to the islands.
  • Book Boat Tickets: Reserve a round‑trip ferry with the official concessionaire Island Packers Cruises from Ventura or Oxnard harbors. These are your “tickets” for getting to and from the islands.
  • Plan Ahead: Especially in peak seasons, book months in advance online through Island Packers or by phone to secure your spot.
  • Camping Reservations: If you’re camping, make reservations through Recreation.gov as well and coordinate your boat trip with those dates.
  • Bring Essentials: Services on the islands are limited — pack food, water, and supplies before your trip.

To visit Channel Islands National Park, you must book ferry transportation through Island Packers (the official concessionaire) at islandpackers.com. There’s no entrance ticket, but camping requires reservations via recreation.gov. Book early, as spots fill quickly.
