Does Turkish Airlines provide seats for infants and bassinets?

I actually went through this with Turkish Airlines earlier this year when we flew from New York to Istanbul with our 6-month-old. I had the same question about bassinets and infant seating because the idea of holding a baby for a 9-hour flight was a little overwhelming. The good news is, yes—Turkish does provide bassinets on long-haul international flights, but you need to request them in advance since they’re limited and only available in certain rows.

Yes, Turkish Airlines does provide bassinet seats for infants, and I can share this from personal experience when I flew from Istanbul to New York with my 7-month-old last year. Honestly, I was nervous about the long flight, but the process turned out to be smoother than I expected.

When booking, I called their customer service directly a few weeks before the trip to request a bassinet seat—these are limited and usually assigned to bulkhead rows. The agent was really patient and explained everything clearly, including the weight and age limits (under 2 years old and up to about 11 kg). They confirmed the bassinet request on the spot and noted it on my booking.

At the airport, the staff double-checked our seat and helped us board early so we could get settled. The bassinet was already installed when we boarded—super convenient!

If you’re traveling with an infant, my tip is to call early rather than waiting until check-in. It makes a huge difference on long flights. You can also modify or confirm your booking easily by contacting Turkish Airlines’ customer service for any flight changes or cancellations—they’re very responsive about family travel needs.
