Does Delta Airlines Offer Charging Outlets in Economy for International Flights

I actually wondered the same thing before my first long Delta flight overseas. I remember stressing about whether my phone and laptop would survive the whole trip since I had some work to finish and didn’t want to land with a dead battery. Before flying, I tried searching online and got mixed answers—some people said every seat had outlets, others said it depended on the plane. So, when I boarded my Delta flight from Atlanta to London, I made it a point to check for myself.

To my relief, there were charging outlets in economy, right under the seats. They weren’t super obvious at first, and I had to lean down to find them, but once I plugged in my phone, it started charging immediately. I also noticed a USB port on the seatback screen, which came in handy for my earbuds and small devices. I’ve been on a couple of Delta international flights since then, and while most of them had outlets, one older plane didn’t, so I learned to always bring a portable charger just in case.

Overall, Delta’s pretty good about providing outlets in economy, especially on their newer international aircraft. If you’re flying soon, I’d say double-check your plane type when you book—mine had them, and it definitely made the trip more comfortable.

Yes, Delta Air Lines generally provides charging outlets in economy on most international flights. Many long-haul aircraft (like the A330, A350, 777, and newer domestic jets on transcontinental routes) have USB ports and/or AC power at each seat so you can charge phones, tablets, or laptops during the flight. On some older or smaller planes, power may be limited or only available at certain seats, so it’s good to check your specific aircraft before flying.

Yes — Delta Airlines generally offers charging outlets (USB and/or power) in Economy on most international flights, especially on newer long‑haul aircraft. Many international Delta planes have USB ports at each seat for charging phones and small devices, and some also include standard power outlets on select aircraft. However, availability can vary by aircraft type and specific seat configuration, so not every flight will guarantee it.

Yes, the in-seat power is predominantly installed in the long-haul international fleet of Delta. The vast majority of Airbus A330, A350, and Boeing 767 planes have AC power sockets or USB in Economy. You are better off inspecting the facilities available in your particular plane when you are making a hotel reservation or just prior to making flight.

Yes — Delta Airlines frequently provides charging ports on international flights, however, depending on airplane models and setups, this can be available in economy or not. USB ports have also become common on most economy seats of many newer wide-body jets (such as A330, 777, A350) and some flights also have universal power ports. They might not be on older or regional planes so make sure you check your flight. In most cases, there is typically USB charging and AC power can be available in some seats.

Last summer, I flew from JFK to Paris, and like you, I was panicking about my phone dying mid-flight. I’m happy to report that Delta is actually one of the better airlines for this! On almost all their international long-haul flights, you’ll find USB ports right in the seatback screen.

In the Main Cabin (Economy), they usually have standard 110V power outlets too, but here is a heads-up: they are often tucked away between the seats near the floor. On my last flight, I spent ten minutes fumbling in the dark before I realized the outlet was shared with my neighbor. The best way to ensure you stay charged is to bring a standard two-prong plug for your laptop and a USB cable for your phone. Just keep in mind that these outlets sometimes have a 100W limit, so they might not support a massive gaming laptop.
