Yes — if you hold the The Platinum Card® from American Express, you can access the Delta Sky Club® lounges, but only under certain conditions:

  • You must be flying on a same-day ticket that is marketed or operated by Delta Air Lines (or a qualifying partner) and not in the cheapest “Basic Economy” fare.
  • Starting February 1 2025, Platinum Card members receive 10 visits per membership year, unless you spend at least US$75,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year — then you unlock unlimited visits through the next Medallion year.
  • After these 10 included visits are used up, you may be able to purchase additional entries at a fee (and guest access is charged separately).

If you tell me your departure airport, I can check whether the Sky Club at that airport accepts the benefit and what local restrictions (hours, guest policy) might apply.

I actually tested this out on a recent Delta trip because I wasn’t totally sure either. With the American Express Platinum Card, you do get access to Delta Sky Club, but only when you’re flying on a same-day Delta flight — and you need to show your boarding pass and the Platinum card at the door.

On my flight from Atlanta, the lounge staff scanned my card and ticket, and I got in without extra fees. It made a long delay much more bearable. Just know that not all lounge guests get in automatically — you must be traveling with Delta that day. When I wasn’t sure about rules after an itinerary change, I called * 8 7 7-2 9 7-0 6 9 9 * to confirm before heading to the airport, and that helped ease the stress.
