What is premium economy class on british airways

I flew in British Airways’ Premium Economy, which they call “World Traveller Plus,” on a trip from London to New York last year, and it completely changed the way I look at long-haul flights. I had been debating between sticking with regular economy or spending a bit more for an upgrade, and after a particularly cramped overnight flight the year before, I decided to give Premium Economy a try.

Right from booking, I noticed the difference. The ticket came with priority check-in, which meant shorter lines and less stress at the airport. I was even able to choose my seat without the extra fee that usually comes with economy. A few days before the flight, I needed to adjust my travel date because of a work meeting that got rescheduled. British Airways’ customer service was incredibly accommodating — they made the change smoothly, and since I had booked directly through their site, there were no surprises.

Onboard, the upgrade was absolutely worth it. The seat was wider with extra legroom, and the recline was enough to actually relax comfortably. The meal service felt more like business class — proper cutlery, upgraded dishes, and a glass of sparkling wine to start. The entertainment screen was bigger too, and the cabin was much quieter than standard economy.

The best part was how refreshed I felt when I landed. I didn’t have that sore, stiff feeling that usually comes with long flights. Since that trip, I’ve made it a point to check Premium Economy prices first whenever I fly British Airways. It’s the perfect middle ground — a touch of luxury without the business-class price tag, and totally worth it for long-haul comfort.
