I got my first taste of United’s First Class last summer, and honestly, it completely changed how I view air travel. I was flying from Denver to Boston for a friend’s wedding, and I decided to treat myself since I’d been saving up travel credits from a few canceled trips during the pandemic. When I upgraded to First Class, I wasn’t sure what to expect — I’d only ever flown economy before — but the experience was noticeably more comfortable from start to finish.
Right from check-in, there was a difference. I had priority boarding and a dedicated check-in line, which meant no long queues. Once I got to my seat, I immediately noticed how spacious it was — way more legroom, a wide seat, and extra padding that made the whole flight feel relaxing. Before takeoff, the flight attendant came by offering drinks, which felt like such a luxury compared to what I was used to.
During the flight, we were served a full meal with real dishes and silverware, not just snacks. The service felt more personal too — the crew checked in regularly without being intrusive. I even got to use United’s premium beverages and complimentary entertainment options, which made the time fly by.
The best part was how calm and unhurried everything felt. Even after landing, we were among the first to deplane, so I didn’t have to stand waiting in the aisle forever. United’s First Class definitely made me appreciate the perks of upgrading, especially for longer flights or when you just want to make the journey part of the vacation. It’s something I’d absolutely splurge on again for a special trip.
