I love outdoor activities—what are the best hiking spots in San Diego for scenic views, beginner-friendly trails, or challenging hikes?

San Diego offers stunning hiking options like Cowles Mountain with city views, Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve for easy nature walks, Annie’s Canyon Trail with unique rock formations, Torrey Pines State Reserve for coastal scenery, and the Bayside Trail at Cabrillo National Monument with ocean views. These hikes suit all levels.

There are many different landscapes of any level in San Diego:
  1. Sea Views: Torrey pines state reserve ( Beach trail) or Sunset cliffs.
  2. Distinct Landform: Annies canyon (slot canyons) or Potato chip Rock (mount woodson).
  3. Canonical Summits: Cowles Mountain or Iron Mountain.
