Key Largo isn’t really known for wide sandy beaches like other parts of Florida, but John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is probably the most popular spot for swimming, kayaking, and snorkeling. Far Beach at Key Largo is a quiet option if you want to relax by the water, and Harry Harris Park in nearby Tavernier has a small protected beach that’s great for families. Personally, I think the real highlight of Key Largo is getting out on the water for snorkeling or boating rather than spending the day on the beach.
