What are the American Airlines Boarding Groups?

American Airlines offers a wide range of nine boarding groups under which travelers can fly. Group 1 includes First Class, while Groups 2 and 3 cover Business Class, AAdvantage elite members, and eligible credit card holders. The Priority First American Airlines passengers board in Group 1, receiving the earliest access. Followed by Group 4 to Group 9 based on their ticket type and loyalty status. Moreover, there is one group called the pre-boarding group, which includes passengers who need assistance, and those who are with toddlers below 2 years of age can get early access out of these 9 groups.
 
American Airlines has 9 boarding groups:
  1. Group 1 – First Class, AAdvantage Executive Platinum
  2. Group 2 – Business Class, Platinum Pro, oneworld Emerald
  3. Group 3 – Platinum, oneworld Sapphire
  4. Group 4 – Gold, oneworld Ruby, Premium Economy
  5. Group 5 – Main Cabin Extra
  6. Group 6 – Main Cabin (regular economy)
  7. Group 7–8 – Basic Economy, no status
  8. Group 9 – Basic Economy (last to board)
