Traveling with Your Pet? Know the Spirit Airlines Pet Policy First

This year, I was nervous about taking my small dog on a trip until I heard about the Spirit Airlines pet policy. It turns out that pets are welcome! Small pets, cats, rabbits, and even domestic birds are allowed in Spirit's cabin. But there's an extra fee: tickets must be made well in advance because only six pets are permitted per trip.

A soft-sided carrier (between 18" x 14" x 9") is required, and each carrier costs $125. Pets are not allowed in cargo since Spirit keeps them close at hand.
